Social work is critical to the society because it promotes social change and the empowerment and liberation of people to enhance well-being. Social workers can be found in a number of facilities including government agencies, Foster care and child services, suicide hotlines, rape crisis centers, probation offices and assistance programs.

Social work job include:

  • Mental health counselling to clients this include one on one counselling or group therapy
  • Interview and evaluate clients problem
  • Develop treatment plan with clients
  • Keep treatment records for each client
  • Direct clients to other areas of assistance
  • Consult with doctors, therepists and medical professionals
  • Administer social services programs
  • Instruct clients family during treatment
